Welcome to our August Newsletter.
We haven’t had much of a summer but we have still seen plenty of cars being enjoyed by their owners despite the changeable weather. The workshops have been very busy all year and we have been fortunate to look after some very special cars. A 512M that is being prepared for the Shell Historic race in Brno in September, this is the first race it will have competed in for many years and it will be wonderful to see the car doing what it was built for once again.
We are also very pleased to see this timeless 250 SWB again. This was one of the first Ferraris Bob ever worked on :
“I originally came across *3605* in the mid 60s, the car at that time was owned by a friend of my father. The car needed work so I was nominated to do it as at that time I was an apprentice at a BMC garage at Melton Mowbray tuning mini coopers and Hillman Imps. I have fond memories of this car, going out with it on Sunday mornings with no road restrictions as there are today. Little did I know this was to be the start of my life with Ferrari.” – Bob Houghton.

The car is now owned by John Corrie who is looking after the car and keeping it in such a wonderful condition. We would like to thank him for letting us work on the car and reuniting Bob with a long lost friend. The 250SWB is arguably the most beautiful road/race car that was ever built and it always gets admiration wherever it goes.
On another topic, Sales has actually been very productive recently and the special cars are still showing their relative immunity to the economic climate. We have recently sold another 288 GTO and have several clients looking for F40s. We also have a beautiful 575 M Maranello coming in shortly for sale, this car is very rare in that it has a special option paint colour of Canna di Fucile, a stunning grey / bronze from the 60s and 70s. The details will be on our website soon.
We at Bob Houghton’s wish you a pleasurably second half of the summer and enjoy your Ferraris and Maseratis whatever the weather! |
